  Soul Restaurant – A Great Escape at Rivertown Resort. Hoi An has a curious phenomenon: some of the best local food can be found not in the bustling streets, but within the garden restaurant of a resort. Soul Restaurant proves that a larger property doesn’t have to feel like a faceless chain — here, the atmosphere is intimate, the service personal, and the food outstanding. Breakfast at Rivertown is already legendary for its freshness and variety (our all time favourite!), but dinner at Soul Restaurant more than matches that reputation. The menu balances authentic local dishes with approachable pricing: you’ll pay the same for satay here as you would at a street stall, yet enjoy it in a lantern-lit garden, unbothered by hawkers and bikes. Favourites include Nem Lui with a cold beer or starters like the delicate white roses and crispy won tons that surprise with their topping! Claypot dishes, salads, and other specialties round out a menu that caters to every taste, with happy hour from 18:00–20:00 making beer cheaper than the corner store. And yes you can just come along for the happy hour(s) without feeling the need to order dinner. What makes Soul Restaurant truly special is the connection with the staff — warm, familiar faces who turn dining into friendship. Over time, we’ve come to know many of them well, and Trang, Nhi and Duyen deserve special mention for their kindness and attentiveness, which always make our visits memorable. For us, Soul Restaurant has become a highlight of our stays in Hoi An at Rivertown, now on our second visit and already planning the next. Do yourself a favor: step away from the hustle of Hoi An’s streets and savor a meal in this enchanting garden setting.

  Do not miss this restaurant in Hoi An. We went back for the 2nd time this week because it was that good. The customer service from Duyan and Trang was the best we have experienced. Both were funny and kind and made us feel welcomed. My son had the braised pork and rice and the pork skewers and fried rice, his wife had the sea bass and spring rolls. My daughter, Emily had the chicken sandwich, we also had another order of pork skewers and the crispy pancakes. Everything was delicious. The restaurant is set back from the street in a beautiful garden atmosphere with lanterns and string lights hanging from the trees. Added some food pic from our first visit. Best place we have found in Hoi An so far!

  We had the chance to dine at Soul Restaurant, located inside Rivertown Hoi An Resort & Spa, and I was genuinely very pleased with the experience. I ate here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during our stay. Mainly because I have a very sensitive stomach and I’m always extra careful when eating out while travelling. It’s not that I don’t trust local food at all—I just have to be cautious. At Soul Restaurant, I felt completely safe and comfortable eating here. Everything was incredibly clean, well-prepared, and presented nicely, which really gave me peace of mind. The service is fantastic—staff are warm, attentive, and always happy to help. The food is delicious, with a good variety, and honestly very affordable for the quality and setting. If you’re staying at Rivertown or even nearby and want a place where you can eat well, comfortably, and stress-free, this is a great option. Highly recommended. ✨

  Lan and her team are fantastic, the food is amazing. The hidden gem, quiet hotel in the heart of Hoi An close to everything but peaceful relaxing and has a great frontage of landscape and green garden that hides the pool and hotel from the road. Will stay here again on the next visit thankyou to all the staff.

  A scenic spot that is very close to Old Town Hoi A but seems to avoid the crazy crowds. We went for dinner last night and there was only one other table occupied. The food was excellent and setting is so serene. Definitely worth a try if you want to escape the crowds.

  I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared fresh and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail really stood out. The service was outstanding special mention to staff Ms. Lan, she was warm, friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were always available to help and ensured everything was perfect throughout our meal. Overall, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. With amazing food and exceptional service, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be coming back!

  Lovely, calm quiet restaurant near the heart of Hoi An. The food is beautiful with the lovely waitress, Trang, showing us how to prepare our food and eat it traditionally. Beautiful atmosphere, cheap and very delicious food, will recommend to our friends.

  The Soul restaurant offers authentic Vietnamese food and also a lot of different cuisines to choose from. Food were delicious and prices were reasonable. We were happy with Duyen's service, she's very polite and friendly.
