We had an absolutely fantastic coconut boat experience with the Minh Hien family. Communication on WhatsApp was excellent helping us book. They start very early so we booked a tour for 8am to avoid the heat and the crowds. For most of the tour, we were the only people out on the water! We were greeted with water and cookies. This felt like an authentic experience at their family home. The boat tour was great (we had young children - 3 and 5 - and it felt very safe for them too). The children got to crab fish too which they loved. A wonderful experience - definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with the Coconut Basket Boat – Minh Hien Family Tour. The family was very kind and welcoming. They immediately translated everything using a handy translator, which made communication easy. The one-hour boat ride through the palm forest and narrow canals was beautiful and peaceful. The place also has a lovely garden with a restaurant where you can join a cooking class. Everything was absolutely clean, and they used fresh fruits and vegetables from their own garden, including many exotic plants and water palms. We also enjoyed delicious, homemade Vietnamese cakes. It was a truly authentic and relaxing experience. Highly recommended! Dana & Josef

We absolutely loved this tour with Lyly! She taught us so much during the visit to the local market, then we had a great time on the basket boat before heading to the cooking class. Lyly was friendly, funny, and made the whole experience truly special. The lunch we cooked together was absolutely delicious! It was also super comfortable to have hotel pick-up and drop-off included. What makes this tour stand out is how authentic and intimate it felt — far from the crowds and massive tourist groups. Lyly really made this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended! Thank you Lyly !

Fun tour for a good price. Here’s everything you need to know… We spent 10-15 minutes having a welcome drink (ginger tea) and coconut crackers that were really nice, then 45 minutes on the water in the basket boat. Mostly direct sunlight about 70% of the time, versus 30% in the shade. They provide traditional Vietnamese hats to wear and I think they even had an umbrella, which I would recommend you take. Also take a portable fan if you have one because it gets hot. This is basically the same route all the boat companies take but I recommend you go before 10am because the big tour groups go from 10am to 1pm. The tour cost us 125k dong per person and the boats fit 2 people. We did a bit of crab fishing but it’s more like feeding than anything because you catch and release the crabs. At the end he asked if we wanted to be spun around and we did which was fun. They also offer water coconut drinks at the end for about 30k. The only thing missing was a bit of history about the boats and more information about the waterways. Their English wasn’t great but it’s enough to get by they’re practicing.

Coconut Basket Boat - Minh Hien Family Tour was by far the best experience for our family! I came across this by a google search because I wanted a private experience instead of a crowded tour group. This was everything I expected and more!!!! The word “family” in their title is exactly what you get. We asked to have a vegetarian food tour and they catered to our every need. We were taken on a market tour to pick out fresh ingredients, then brought to a lovely home. From their we went on the coconut boats ahead of all the crowded tour groups. When we returned, we cooked the most delicious meal. We had a 6 and 14 year old and they enjoyed both the cooking and the food.

We absolutely loved the experience! We were very lucky because it ended up being just the two of us, which made it feel even more special and relaxed. The hosts were incredibly friendly and kind — they created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the very beginning. We loved that nothing felt rushed. No one was hurrying us, and we could simply enjoy the moment and the beautiful surroundings. Catching the little crabs was also surprisingly fun. Thank you for such a lovely and authentic experience!

We had such an amazing experience with this family run business, upon a arrival the family dog came and greeted us, so happy and friendly , we then all had the best coconut cookies provided by the lady who ran the family business, we then got into our boats they provided us a bough boats for 7 of us and didn’t disappoint, they were singing and dancing and playing music , we went spinning on the boats and went crab fishing and we saw coconut growing on trees, the lady who ran the business gave us three packets of her cookies for free and also provided us with water and free transfer too and from our hotel which is included in the price overall we had a lovely experience and would recommend to anyone visiting . i think it’s important that people go with family run businesses as it’s more helpful to the community

We had an absolutely fantastic morning floating down the mangroves on the coconut boats. Unlike other big tour operators, we got to enjoy the entire experience to ourselves (family of 4 in 2 separate boats). We were dropped off at the wrong tour company by Grab, and after a quick call to the Minh Hien family, they arranged to come and collect us on scooters and take us to the right place. From welcome drinks and coconut cake to start the tour, to catching crabs at the end, I couldn’t fault them and would recommend to everyone looking for a more personal boat ride.
