My friend and I stayed at the Airbnb next door: The Flow Homestay and we came across this restaurant in a private home. It was four of us and we enjoyed this meal very very much. The pasta, pork and mushroom dishes was SOOOOO AMAZING, and the sicky rice bamboo was very unique additions to our dishes. Definitely top 3 meals with (at least) my 8 days in Vietnam. The view in the area is serene and stunning. Major plus here. Was planning to make it back in the morning for another taste, but had to rush into the city with other plans :( :(. Will need to come back for another delicious meal :) :)

The absolute best and most soulful dining spot in Ta Van!❤️ While living in Ta Van, I found myself coming here multiple times a day. It is an incredibly cozy, family-run restaurant where everything - from the food to the hospitality - is filled with pure soul. I am genuinely sad that I won't have this delicious place nearby anymore, but I will absolutely be back! Food highlights you must try👇 - The Banana Cake 🍰 A true masterpiece! It is incredibly fresh, delicious, and drizzled with natural honey straight from their own garden. The owners were so sweet they even showed me where their bees live. - The Pasta 🍝 On my last evening, they made me an amazing, slightly spicy pasta with what tasted like delicious cured meat. - Homemade Apricot Wine 🍷 To celebrate my departure, I tried their local apricot wine. It is phenomenal - it drinks as smoothly and pleasantly as a fruit compote, but it is quite strong and intoxicating. One glass is the perfect way to completely relax after a hearty dinner. All of their dishes and teas are excellent, and they also have wonderful vegetarian options. The entire place, including the kitchen, is spotlessly clean. There are also lovely animals around that instantly boost your mood and make the atmosphere feel even more like home. The girls running the kitchen are the sweetest, most charming people. You can truly see and taste the love they put into every single dish. Without a doubt, this is the best place in Ta Van. I highly recommend it to everyone! 👍

The Hermit is an amazing place in Tavan. Tucked away in a small alley a bit away from the busy area, it has the perfect balance between convenience and peace. It’s only about a 5-minute walk to the center of Tavan, once there, it really feels like you’re surrounded by nature. From the sliding glass door of the room, you can step straight into the backyard, sit down, relax, and enjoy the mountain and garden views, whether it’s a sunny day or a foggy one. I stayed here with my cat, and we had a great time. Every morning, my cat went outside to hang out with their little dog, while I sat in the garden having coffee and working quietly. It was super relaxing. Thuong, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. She lives there with her kid and dad, and the whole family is very friendly and respectful. She’s also a great cook. She shared mangoes, veggies, and cơm lam with me for free, and even took me into town to buy buffalo jerky as a gift for my family. I’m really grateful for the stay and would absolutely come back. I’d definitely recommend this place to friends who are looking for a calm, cozy spot close to nature.

This was the first place we visited after arriving early in the morning, and we kept coming back throughout our trip. They also have great food options for vegans and vegetarians. Their salt coffee was the best, and they were kind enough to teach me how to make it. They also have an amazing selection of cakes. We’ll definitely be back when we visit Sa Pa again.🌿🌼❤️

Perhaps the coziest & most peaceful cafe in Sapa, Hermit lies in a little nook in Ta Van, tucked down in a courtyard & home of Thoung & her family. The little peeking window from the outside into the kitchen, a craft corner with supplies for everyone to share, & a phenomenal menu. Without hesitation, I indulged in the tofu, avocado, & mango tomato toast, salt coffee, & cream cheese honey comb cinnamon roll 😋😋 (Unfortunately I came for lunch & the bagels were sold out 😔😔) Could sit there all day for breakfast lunch & dinner, it’s a quiet atmosphere filled with magic & flavors Wow 🥳

After two months of staying at Hermit, Odi, my cat, has made new best friends and found wonderful companions among all the creatures in this magical place. We’re moving out today and going to miss this place dearly, with deep gratitude and appreciation. The owner puts so much care and devotion into her food and service. Spending time playing with her kid was always so joyful and heartwarming. Sa and Sung are the sweetest and kindest souls. I will remember and cherish my time here, and be forever grateful for all the memories, connections, and kindness. ❤️

I stayed at The Hermit Sapa for 3 nights and really enjoyed my time there. The meals I had every day felt like home-cooked comfort food, which made me feel at ease. I also loved the small town atmosphere around the homestay. One night, after the kitchen was already closed, I was still hungry, and the owner kindly prepared me a delicious dinner. I truly appreciate that gesture and her warm hospitality.
