We bought several handmade products from this shop to support local artisans, but we ended up leaving with so much more than we expected. The designs are truly unique, and the craftsmanship is noticeably higher quality compared to many other shops we visited. Even the products have a wonderful, pleasant scent, which made them even more special. We heard that some people mention the prices are a bit high, but we believe it’s important to appreciate the time, skill, and dedication that go into every handmade piece. These products are crafted with heart, patience, and hard work by local artisans, making them well worth the price. You’re not just buying a souvenir—you’re supporting traditional craftsmanship and the people who keep it alive. Also, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming. She made our visit even more memorable. Plus, their kittens too! We’re so glad we stopped by during our stay in Sapa. If we had more time, we definitely would have joined one of their workshops. Thank you so much for the lovely lucky bird you gifted us—it was such a thoughtful gesture and a beautiful souvenir that we’ll always cherish. We highly recommend this shop to anyone visiting Sapa!

Really lovely store!! We bought a beautiful blanket that we are very excited to use. I see some comments saying that it is expensive, and yes you may be able to find cheaper options but if you have the money to support an ethical company that you know is owned and for Hmong people... why don't you?

Did the batik workshop today with Gom, she was really lovely and guided us through the workshop so well answering questions about the process and explaining how to improve and helping when I wasn’t sure how to put my vision on the fabric, she is a very good teacher. The atmosphere in the shop is so peaceful, it was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. There are many great products to browse too, and nice to know that everything in the shop is ethically produced. Thanks Indigo Cat!

Lovely store selling high quality textiles, accessories and home decor. We purchased a bag and some fabric cuttings that we can remember Sapa by. They were even able to patch a pair of jeans at a very reasonable cost. Staff were very kind and helpful :)

I am a lover of arts and crafts and was so pleased to be able to take the Batik Art Workshop! Even my partner who isn't normally into any arts really enjoyed it. It was relaxing and rewarding to make our own pieces and see them being dipped into the indigo at the end. The family here is incredibly warm and were so welcoming to us. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for a couple of nights before leaving SaPa for Kunming, China by train. Really nice people here, only problem is noise from traffic in daytime which is to be expected in a prime location. Nice simple room with balcony and very comfortable double bed. Nice clean room. Great restaurant opposite. Really good place to stay at very fair price.

We booked Indigo Cat Hotel in Sapa through Booking.com and paid in full in advance. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told there was no reservation under our name. Despite showing proof of payment and confirmation, the staff claimed they never received the money and tried to make us pay a second time. After contacting Booking.com, we were informed that the hotel had marked the payment as received. However, the hotel never acknowledged this on their end, which has left us unable to get a refund. Because the hotel did not cooperate or clarify the situation, Booking.com says they cannot refund us. This situation shows extremely poor business ethics and zero accountability. We were put under stress after traveling, treated unfairly, and effectively lost our money despite having a valid reservation. Scam alert. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend staying away from this hotel to avoid similar problems.
